TMP user instructional videos - Plan and support learning
The RACP is redesigning, developing and implementing new curricula across our Basic Training and Advanced Training Programs.
The new curricula follows a competency-based medical education framework.
The short videos explain the changes to the new RACP curricula.
Instructional video - Basic Training Trainee Submits a Rotation Plan
49 STEPS
1. The first step is to open Home and click My Training.
2. Under Training Programs, click on the Program name or go to the Actions button to open next window.
3. Now select Training Plan to bring you to the Rotation Plan section.
4. To add a new Rotation select Add New Rotation Plan.
5. Under Rotation Plan Details, please select the type of Rotation Plan. In this example, we are selecting an Accredited Setting.
6. In this example, we are selecting an Accredited Setting.
You can also select Non-accredited Setting and Interruption (to Training).
7. Once selected, progress by clicking Save and Next.
8. Scroll down and click here to choose the Rotation Period start and end dates.
9. Choose the Start Date
10. Click to choose an End Date
11. Update your FTE status if needed.
12. If you are a new trainee in 2025, you will be required to indicate that the start date of your first Rotation Plan is also the start date of your Training Program. See next slide for more details. 2024 cohort trainees are not required to do this.
13. Next step is to add your Training Setting.
14. Select the Training Setting, in this case Hobart General
15. Next section is Rotation type details, which is information about the subspeciality and includes the position description.
16. You can partially type the name of the rotation type to draw up a list.
17. Checkbox your Rotation Type and navigate to Select to progress
18. For Basic Training you do not need to enter Position Description details. This is for Advanced Trainees only.
You can provide some Comments but is not mandatory.
19. Scroll down and to Supervisors.
20. Now scroll down and click Add Rotation Supervisor.
21. Click the magnify glass.
22. Please type in your Rotation Supervisor's First Name and Last Name. Beware of hyphens, spelling errors and avoid using Preferred Names. Trainees can wildcard (*) search for their supervisor. i.e *Jacob Globe as an RS, can search *Globe.
23. Select your Supervisor by clicking the checkbox.
24. And then click Select to progress.
25. If you cannot find your supervisor this way, check the Cannot find Supervisor box to add their details. Click Submit.
26. Click Save And Next.
27. Next step is Training Phase.
Scroll and click Training Phase magnify to select your Training Phase.
28. Click the checkbox for the Training Phase.
29. Once check boxed, move to Select to progress to the Learning plan section.
Here you will add Learning Goals, Coverage and details of Learning Opportunities in your plan.
30. Go to the Learning Goal to be covered during the Rotation, select 'yes' for 'coverage offered' and outline the learning opportunities available.
31. Click Edit.
32. If there is coverage offered, change the Coverage Offered to Yes.
33. Select Yes
34. Now enter the Opportunities Available. If you are not sure, then please speak with your Rotation Supervisor.
35. Generally, it is expected that you will repeat these steps for all Learning Goals in your Program.
36. Next section is Custom Goals. These are optional and can be tailored to the trainee’s interests or career aspirations. Trainees can propose custom goals that may be outside the standard curriculum.
37. Click Custom Goal Name
38. Type Custom Goal Name
39. Click Learning Goal Launch lookup modal
40. Select the Learning Goal it relates to, by clicking the checkbox
41. Select the Learning Goal it relates to, by clicking the checkbox.
42. Click Select to progress.
43. Type in What do you plan to learn and give details on How will you know when you have achieved this goal?
44. Give details on When do you plan to complete this goal?
45. Click Submit
46. You may choose to add supporting evidence. Please note that this is not mandatory. Click Save And Next to progress to Declarations.
47. You are now ready to review and check your Declarations. Please review each declaration and check to progress to summary section.
Once done, click Save And Next to progress to Submit.
48. Now click Submit.
49. You will see that a Rotation Plan has been successfully submitted.
That's it. You're done.

Instructional video - Advanced Training Trainee submits a Rotation Plan
55 STEPS
1. The first step is click My Training to navigate to your Training Program
2. Click your Training Program, in this case Cardiology (Adult Medicine).
3. Now select the Training Plan tab.
4. On the next screen, scroll to Add New Rotation Plan. As an Advanced Trainee, you are not required to select a Supervisor under Supervisor Nominations section.
This is for Basic Trainees to select an Education Supervisor only.
5. Under Rotation Plan Details, please select the type of Rotation Plan. In this example, we are selecting an Accredited Setting.
You can also select Non-accredited Setting and Interruption (to Training).
6. Once selected, scroll down and click Save and Next to progress.
7. Scroll down and click here to choose the Rotation Period start and end dates.

17. Type any supporting information in Comments, if needed.
18. Now scroll down and click Add Rotation Supervisor
19. For most Advanced Training Programs, a Rotation Plan requires two Rotation Supervisors. Please check your Program handbook or the College website for more information.
20. Please type in your Rotation Supervisor's First Name and Last Name. Beware of hyphens, spelling errors and avoid using Preferred Names. Trainees can wildcard (*) search for their supervisor. i.e *Jacob Globe as an RS, can search *Globe.
21. Select your Supervisor by clicking the checkbox
22. And then click Select to progress.
23. Ensure the dates are correct and click Submit.
24. If you Advanced Training Program requires, now add your 2nd Rotation Supervisor. Please check your Training Program's handbook for confirmation.
25. Click the Search button
26. Repeat the add your Rotation Supervisor steps. Search for your 2nd Rotation Supervisor by first name. You may have to confirm this with your Rotation Supervisor.
27. Now, click Save And Next to select the Training Phase.
28. Scroll and click Training Phase magnify to select your Training Phase.
29. Click the checkbox for the Training Phase
30. Once check boxed, move to Select to progress to the Learning plan section where you will add Learning Goals and Coverage and details of Learning Opportunities in your plan.
31. Go to the learning goals to be covered during a rotation, select 'yes' for 'coverage offered' and outline the learning opportunities available.
32. If there is coverage offered, change the Coverage Offered to Yes.
33. Now enter the Opportunities Available. If you are not sure, then please speak with your Rotation Supervisors.
34. Once entered, click Submit to progress.

47. Scroll down and click Submit
48. You can add supporting documentation for your Rotation plan such as Letter of Offer, Time Tables, etc. To do this click Add files.
49. Scroll up and click Choose files
50. Upload your file
51. Your file is now loaded. To progress select Save And Next
52. You are now ready to review and check your Trainee Declarations. Please review each declaration and check to progress to summary section. Please note that Training Program's may have varying declaration requirements.
53. Click Save And Next to progress to Submit.
54. Click Submit.
55. You will see that a Rotation Plan has been successfully submitted message. Click here to review the Training Program and navigate back to your other Rotation Plans.
That's it. You're done.

17 STEPS
1. This tutorial is based on a Rotation Supervisor completing a Rotation Plan review from a notification sent from the TMP after a trainee has submitted a Rotation plan.
2. The top sections of the Rotation Plan provides Rotation Plan Details.
3. Scroll down and to review Rotation Period and Training Setting details.
4. The 2nd Section is the review of the Learning plan. Here a trainee has indicated what Learning Goals, coverage and opportunities they expect during this Rotation. Click on the Learning Goal name or Action button to review.
5. Once you have completed the review, click the X to return to the previous page.
6. Repeat for all Learning Goals. Please note that you have the opportunity to provide feedback later in the Supervisor Review section.
7. If a trainee has add a Custom Goal, you can review under the next section. These are optional and can be tailored to the trainee’s interests or career aspirations. Trainees can propose custom goals that may be outside the standard curriculum.
8. Click View details of the Custom Learning Goal.
9. Once reviewed, click the X to return to previous section.
10. Next is Supervisor Declarations where the Rotation Supervisor confirms trainee inputs. You also have opportunity to provide feedback or request more information from the Trainee.
11. Click Review
12. Select and confirm each statement.
13. Select Yes
14. Click Supervisor Review Comments. Here you can assist Trainees to plan their learning during the rotation, provide information on learning opportunities. Note that this section is not mandatory.
15. To finalise the review, checkbox Review Finalised and select Finalise in the bottom right hand side.
If you wish for Trainee to amend their Rotation, provide feedback in Comments and select Return to Trainee and then Return to Trainee.
16. Click Finalise.
That's it! You are done!
The Rotation Plan will be considered Submitted and will move to the next stages of review by the College.
17. If required, you can ask a trainee to update their plan. For example, add more opportunities, learning goals. In the Supervisor Review Comment, add feedback and then select Return to Trainee and scroll to the bottom of the page Return to Trainee.

1. This tutorial is based on AT Rotation Supervisor actioning the review from a notification sent from the TMP. You are 1 of 2 Rotation Supervisors who will act as a Rotation Supervisor for this Trainee's plan.
2. Top sections provides details such as Trainee name, Training Program, Rotation Plan Type.
3. Next section is Rotation Period details. This covers the start and end date of the rotation, along with the duration and FTE.
4. Next section covers Training Setting details. Network and Setting DPEs only apply for Basic Training Programs. Please ignore.
5. Next section is Rotation type details, which is information about the subspeciality and includes the position description.
6. For most Advanced Training Program's there are two Rotation Supervisors required to support a Trainee. Here you will see the name of the two Rotation Supervisors nominated by the Trainee.
7. Next section shows the Training Phase that Trainee is in.
8. Next is the Learning plan section where trainees identify coverage of their learning goals and learning opportunities.
9. You can open a learning goal using the Actions column to see what learning opportunities a trainee has recorded.
10. Review details of Coverage and Opportunities Available.
Once you have completed the review, click the X to return to the previous page.
11. Repeat for all Learning Goals. Please note that you have the opportunity to provide feedback later in the Supervisor Review section.
12. Custom goals are optional and can be tailored to the trainee’s interests or career aspirations. Trainees can propose custom goals that may be outside the standard curriculum.
13. Once reviewed, click the X to return to previous section.
14. Next section is Documents. It is expected that the Trainee provides supporting evidence such as letter of offer and confirmed ward rounds with their Rotation Plan.
15. Next is Supervisor Declarations where each Rotation Supervisor confirms the trainee inputted statements and also provides feedback.
In this example, Oscar is the first supervisor to complete the Declaration.
16. Click Review to open the section.
17. Select and confirm each statement.
18. Select Yes
19. Click Supervisor Review Comments. Here you can assist trainees to plan their learning during the rotation, provide information on learning opportunities, etc.
20. To finalise the review, checkbox Review Finalised and select Finalise in the bottom right hand side.
If you are the first Rotation Supervisor to finalise, the Rotation is considered Submitted.
21. The Rotation Plan will be considered Submitted and will move to the next stages of review by the College.
If you are the 2nd Rotation Supervisor, you still have to "Review" and finalise.
22. That's it! You are done!
23. If you wish for Trainee to amend their Rotation plan. Provide details in the Supervisor Review Comments select Return to Trainee and then Return to Trainee. You will be notified when the Trainee has updated their plan.

1. DPEs can access the TMP Portal via the College Website, using Safari, Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers.
Use your College log-in credentials.
The first step is to open Home and click your name in the top right-hand corner.
2. To view your profile details, click My Profile.
3. Here you'll find the details the College has for your profile.
If these are requiring updates, please contact the Member Support Centre.
4. DPEs can view a list of their trainees once the trainees have submitted an application and a rotation plan.
To see all the trainees assigned to you navigate to the My Trainees tab.
5. Click My Trainees.
6. You can view a trainee's training details by either clicking on the trainee's name or on the action menu.
7. Click View Trainee Training Program to open the trainee dashboard.
8. If there are multiple DPEs in your setting or network, all DPEs will be able to see all trainees assigned to the setting or network.
9. DPEs can view applications for their training program at their setting/network requiring review. Click the My Trainees tab, and My Trainees' Applications.
10. Note: Once a training application is approved, DPEs and TPCs lose access to it in TMP. This will be updated in a future TMP release.
After a trainee submits a Rotation Plan, DPEs, TPCs and nominated supervisors can view their records in 'My Trainees'
11. DPE dashboards (in future) will provide an overview of the following (4) things:
1) A list of Applicants/Trainees without a submitted rotation plan. This list will include trainees who have rotation plans in either "Draft" state or not created at all.
12. 2) A list of trainees who have nominated the respective DPE as their DPE via rotation plan (RP).
3) A list of other trainees with RPs in the specific setting where the respective DPE is a setting contact and who have not nominated their DPE via RP.
13. 4) For clinical experience details, DPE will be able to see via the Trainee dashboard, Clinical Experiences tab for individual trainees.
14. Until DPE dashboards are available, Basic Training staff can export data from TMP to share this information with DPEs and TPCs on request. This data extract would provide oversight of rotation plans submitted and clinical experience validated.
15. Send your request to BasicTraining@racp.edu.au.
16. DPEs can view the details of their trainees' rotation plans.
Click My Trainees to view a list of trainees who have submitted a Rotation Plan.
17. Next step is to click on the trainee's name or on the Actions menu dropdown.
18. Now navigate to the Training Plan tab.
19. Scroll down to view All Rotation Plans.
Please note that Validation Status refers to College processes for approving Rotation Plans against Clinical Experience.
20. Once plans have been Validated. Trainees will be notified on how this time is counted (Core, Non-Core).
There are no associated actions for DPEs.
21. A trainee's Rotation Plan is only visible to you once they have submitted it.
If a trainee has not submitted a Rotation Plan for your setting, you will not be able to access their details.
Once submitted, you can find Rotation Plans here.
22. To view a Rotation Plan, click the Actions menu dropdown and View details.
As the DPE is not the Rotation Supervisor here, the DPE can review details including learning goals covered, but will not be able to update or finalise the plan.
23. You can scroll through the form to view the details of the plan.
Here, we can view a Custom Goal that a trainee has added to their Rotation Plan.
Any specific areas you want to view in more depth, click the Actions menu downarrow.
24. Navigating across the tabs under the trainee's name, you can view General information, like a trainee's training phase dates.
Under Assessment Requirements, DPEs can understand what assessments trainees' have completed, as per Curricula requirements.
25. Here DPEs can view the required quantity of assessments and how many are complete.
Trainees are encouraged to complete additional assessments to provide more information for progress decisions.
26. To view a trainee's Learning Captures or Observation Captures, click the Actions menu dropdown and View details.
Assessments should cover a breadth of learning goals required for the specific phase of training.
27. Scroll down to see the submitted assessments, and click the Actions menu dropdown to open the record.
28. Scroll through the form here to view the details.
Click Exit to return to the Assessment Details page.
29. To view the list of learning goals for each training phase, click the Learning Goal Requirements tab.
30. A list of Learning Goals by Training Phase will appear.
31. To view time-based requirements, including core and non-core time, click the Clinical Experiences tab.
As Basic Training staff certify time, this information will appear here.
32. TMP keeps a record of all correspondence sent via TMP relating to your role as a DPE. For example, it keeps track of when a trainee has sent something requiring review. Click your name and My Communication History to view the outgoing correspondence.
33. The TMP also keeps a record of actions assigned to you, under the My Assigned Actions tab.
You will also receive an email notifying you when your action is required. Links contained in those emails will bring you to the right place in the TMP.
34. Here you will be able to see for Rotation Plans, Observation and Learning Captures, Applications, Program Level (specific DPE approvals) the outstanding items for your review and approval. Navigate through each tab to view what is required.
35. You can return to the TMP Homepage by clicking the logo at any time.
36. That's it. You're done.

73 STEPS
1. Interrupted training refers to an absence from your training rotations for more than 8 weeks consecutively in a training year. This includes parental leave (maternity, paternity, or adoptive leave).
2. Trainees will need to register their period of interruption with the College before they begin their interrupted training (if possible).
Trainees should notify their DPE of intended interruption to training and submit leave to their relevant setting.
3. Trainees can interrupt training as many times and for as long as needed, within the allowed time for completion.
4. Note: Training periods undertaken during interruptions aren't eligible for certification unless applied before the due date.
After a continuous period of 12 months trainees should work with their supervisors to create a return to training plan.
5. Trainees will be able to submit an Interruption of Training Rotation Plan through the TMP.
6. The first step is to click My Training.
7. Under Training Programs, select your training program by clicking on the program name.
8. Your Training Program will open.
9. Navigate to the Training Plan tab.
10. Scroll down to All Rotation Plans.
11. Under All Rotation Plans, click the Add New Rotation Plan button.
12. A New Rotation Plan will open.
13. Under Rotation Plan Details, view your Training Program name.
14. Now you will be asked to select the Rotation Plan Type.
15. Click Select to open a dropdown.
16. Select Interruption.
17. Click Save and Next to progress.
18. Now you will be asked to provide information about the Interruption.
19. You will need to indicate a Start Date.
20. Click the calendar to choose a date.
21. Click the specific Start Date.
22. You will need to indicate an End Date.
23. Click the calendar to choose a date.
24. Click the specific End Date.
25. The Duration (Month) wil pre-fill based on the dates entered.
26. Scroll down to provide further information about the Interruption.
27. You will now need to indicate the Interruption Type from a dropdown list.
28. Click Select to open the dropdown.
29. You can choose from any of the following Interruption Types.
If you are unsure of which Interruption Type to select, consult the College Website or call the Member Support Centre.
30. In this example, we will select Annual leave longer than two months.
31. If you intend to upload evidence of your interruption, you will need to indicate Yes or No here.
32. Click the dropdown to select Yes or No.
33. In this example, we will select No.
34. If you have excluded Interruption Time, you will need to indicate Yes or No here.
35. Click the dropdown to select Yes or No.
36. In this scenario, we will select No.
37. You will need to indicate if you are returning to the same Setting after your Interruption period.
38. Click the dropdown to select Yes or No.
39. In this example, we will select Yes.
40. Here you will need to provide a brief description explaining what you will be doing in this Interruption period.
41. Type directly into the Additional Interruption Comments textbox.
42. You will need to check your Training Phase is correct.
43. To change the Training Phase, click the magnify button.
44. Checkbox the correct Training Phase.
45. Click Select to progress.
46. Now you can progress to the next section.
47. Click Save And Next to progress.
48. Here you will be able to Upload Documents as evidence of your Interruption.
49. Click Add files.
50. Click Choose files to find the file you want to upload.
51. Click Add files to upload.
52. Your file should now appear.
53. Click Save And Next to progress to the Declarations section.
54. Now you will need to read and checkbox each Trainee Declaration.

71. You will be taken to your Training Plan. Scroll down to All Rotation Plans.
72. Your Interruption is now Submitted.
73. That's it. You're done.
